Launched in October 2004, current participating companies include Daum Communication, NHN, JungBu CityGas, JB Entech, L’Oreal, Tour Express, Daum Direct Auto Insurance, and Metlife Korea. Current e-Mentees include youths at youth rehabilitation centers, juvenile correctional facilities, welfare centers, group homes and vocational high schools.
Through e-Mentoring, the e-Mentees can improve life skills (motivation, self-esteem, communication ability, conflict management, etc) needed to interact with other people and for work life. Through the improvement, the e-Mentees can acquire information and knowledge needed for an independent and confident life. The business employee, e-Mentor, has the opportunity for personal growth and to contribute to society using his/her professional knowledge.
”Tortee” e-Mentoring is a corporate social responsibility program that is long-term, continuous, and advanced. It improves corporate image and facilitates volunteer activities of business employees. In addition, employees’ pride in their companies will increase. In “Tortee,” e-Mentors and e-Mentees continue building trust and emotional bonds through online events and offline meetings.
