History
2024
In 2024, Daum Foundation pushed toward creating a more focused and refined incubation program, supporting nonprofit startups working specifically on children and youth programs and on education safety nets. The Foundation was also able to reaffirm the high level of satisfaction with and participation in its ongoing programs, such as the ChangeON Conference and D.MZ. In addition, 2024 marked the year the Foundation began building social impact partnerships with corporate partners such as Amorepacific in earnest, engaging nonprofit startups in social contribution initiatives.
By opening topic-based incubating tracks, the Nonprofit Startup Incubation Program supported an additional 11 teams, while also beginning corporate partnerships in collaboration with teams that had graduated from the program. The ICAN self-assessment website was also launched, enabling early-stage nonprofit startups to assess and manage their own impact as they strive for organizational growth. Lastly, the Program strengthened its back-office support by forming partnerships with Samil PwC (accounting) and MyOrange (fundraising).
Dongnakga, established and managed with support from the Babo Nanum Foundation, continued to be actively promoted as an incubation space for nonprofit startups, while also gaining recognition as a permanent exhibition space. In 2024, Dongnakga welcomed 1,350 visitors, marking its highest annual number of visitors to date.
D.MZ continued to provide a space where social sector activists in their 20s and 30s could take ownership of conversations around their public-interest work, sharing their thoughts and concerns while building networks with one another – ultimately strengthening the foundation on which they could regain motivation for their work and sustain their activities in a healthy way. The program also worked to raise external awareness of the need to support young activists in the social sector by publishing participant-written op-eds in the media outlet The Butter.
The 2024 ChangeON Conference delivered messages relevant to the nonprofit sector, centered on the theme of “Love,” one of the fundamental values of nonprofit organizations. Lectures explored the theme of “Love,” offering diverse perspectives, and a wide range of accompanying programs added further variety, both of which received highly positive feedback from participants.
